Pinal County Jail Roster Overview
The Pinal County jail roster is maintained by the Pinal County Sheriff's Office under Sheriff Ross Teeple. Adult Detention is run by Deputy Chief Gilberto "Gil" Hoyos, the first jail Deputy Chief promoted from within the agency in 24 years. The sworn-deputy side is led by Deputy Chief Jason Villegas, and Undersheriff Bryan Harrell sits second in command under the Sheriff. The Adult Detention Center sits at 971 N Jason Lopez Circle in Florence, and it is the third largest county jail in Arizona by rated capacity. The public can search the Pinal Sheriff inmate database at any hour of the day or night.
The roster does not show every person with a Pinal case. A person sentenced to state prison moves to Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry custody and drops from the Pinal list. Federal inmates show in the Bureau of Prisons locator, not the Pinal roster. People held under a 287(g) ICE hold may move to a federal facility. A name that does not appear may also be in a city jail, a tribal jail, a hospital, a juvenile hold, or a different county. The Pinal jail line at 520-509-7957 can confirm custody when the public search is unclear.
The Pinal County Adult Detention page is the front door for the roster, the FAQ, the visitation page, and the mail rules. Sergeant-level questions about bond, court dates, and release timing go through the same jail line.
An overview of the jail and inmate search portal comes from the Pinal Adult Detention page, which links the search tool and the FAQ.

That same page lists the jail's role as the third largest county jail in Arizona and points users to the live custody search and the jail information line.
How to Use the Pinal Jail Roster
The Pinal inmate search has one input field and one button. The page expects a last name or an inmate ID. The portal does not let users filter by date booked, charge, or housing pod. The search returns a list of people who are in jail right now. The list refreshes every 60 minutes.
- Open the Pinal Sheriff inmate search at app1.pinal.gov/search/inmate-search.aspx.
- Type the last name in the single input field, or type the inmate ID number if you have it.
- Click the Search button. The portal returns the current custody list that matches the entry.
- Click a result to view the inmate's public profile, if a profile view is offered for that record.
- If no result loads, wait for the next 60-minute update or call the jail line at 520-509-7957 to confirm.
If the booking just happened, the name may not appear until the next refresh. The roster also drops released people right away. A search that worked an hour ago may show nothing now because the person posted bond, finished a sentence, or transferred to another agency.
For background on the Sheriff's Office command staff and the agency that runs the search, see the PCSO About Us page.

The About page lists Sheriff Ross Teeple, Undersheriff Bryan Harrell, Deputy Chief Jason Villegas, and Deputy Chief Gil Hoyos, the leaders behind the roster and the jail.
Roster Search Fields
The Pinal inmate search uses a stripped-down form. There is no advanced search panel, no race or sex filter, and no date range. The single field accepts text. The search is case-insensitive. The portal also shows a short disclaimer and an update-frequency notice on the same screen.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| LAST NAME or INMATE ID | Text | Yes | Single input box with the placeholder text "LAST NAME or INMATE ID." |
| Search | Submit button | Yes | Button label is "Search." One click runs the query. |
| Results list | Dynamic output | N/A | Returns the current custody list that matches the entry. No result list is shown until a name is entered. |
| Disclaimer | Notice | N/A | States the search lists people currently incarcerated. Inclusion is not proof of guilt; it means the person is or has been in jail. |
| Update frequency | Notice | N/A | Updated every 60 minutes. New bookings appear at the next refresh. Released people no longer appear. |
The form has no CAPTCHA at the time of inspection. The thin form is by design: the Sheriff wants the public to find a name fast, not to mine bulk data. Bulk requests should go through the Sheriff Records Unit.
What an Inmate Profile May Show
The Pinal inmate search confirms current jail custody. The public landing page exposes only the search field, the disclaimer, and the update notice. A live sample profile was not visible without a name query, so the table below describes the kind of detail commonly shown on jail profiles and flags the items that are not promised by the official Pinal page.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Inmate Name | Last name, first name, and any middle name or suffix on file with the jail. |
| Inmate ID | The local jail booking number used by Pinal staff to track the person in custody. |
| Custody Status | Confirms the person is currently held by the Pinal County Sheriff. Released people are removed from the listing. |
| Mugshot | The public source page has image containers, but a visible booking photo is not promised on every record. Call the jail to confirm. |
| Charges | May appear, but the Adult Detention page does not promise public charge display. For charge detail, see the Clerk of Superior Court case file. |
| Bond Amount | Not promised online. The Adult Detention notice directs callers to 520-509-7957 for bond amounts. |
| Housing / Pod / Tank | Not promised online. Internal housing fields exist but are not confirmed in the public search. |
| Court Date | Not promised online. For court dates, call 520-509-7957 or use Arizona Public Access for case schedules. |
| Booking Date | May appear on the result row. Call the jail to confirm exact intake time when it matters. |
| Disclaimer | Every result page repeats that the listing is not proof of guilt and that release removes the name. |
Use the search to confirm Pinal custody. Use the jail line for bond, court dates, and release status. Use the Clerk of Superior Court file for full charge and disposition history.
Pinal County Jail Contact Cards
Several phone lines reach into the jail. The Adult Detention Center handles intake, classification, and release. The Sheriff's Office at Building C handles civil process, records, and command. The medical, property, phone, and victim lines all run on different extensions. Use the card that fits the question.

Booking and Intake at the Pinal Jail
A person arrested in Pinal County is taken to the Adult Detention Center in Florence for booking. Intake covers identity, photo, prints, medical screen, and a classification step that decides housing. The jail uses 287(g) authority on the federal program side. The Pinal page says the jail has six detention officers with 287(g) authority and uses a 48-hour hold so ICE can take custody of identified individuals. That hold is set by federal rules, not by the Pinal court.
The jail opened on April 1, 1996, with 472 beds. The current rated capacity is 1,503. The Adult Detention page says the jail houses an average of about 600 inmates a day, which is around 40 percent of rated capacity based on the published average. The jail is in the Large Jail Category under National Institute of Corrections rules.
Release timing is one of the most useful local facts. The Adult Detention FAQ says release can take up to four hours from the time the jail receives release paperwork from the court or the bond is posted. If a person pays bond, the payer should go to the admission window and confirm the bail was paid.
Background on the agency that runs intake is on the PCSO About Us page, which names the command staff over the jail and the sworn side.
For more on the cases that feed into the jail, see criminal records and warrant records.
Visitation Hours and Rules
Pinal Adult Detention uses Securus Technologies for video visitation. On-site visits are free. Remote visits from home or office cost $6 for 20 minutes. The jail has posted a current notice that on-site personal and public video visits are closed until further notice due to construction. Remote video visits continue, and professional contact visits run on a limited weekday schedule during the same construction window.
| Visit Type | Schedule | Cost | Rules |
|---|---|---|---|
| On-site public video | Normally Saturday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday closed | No cost | Closed until further notice due to construction. Schedule 24 hours in advance. Two 20-minute on-site visits per inmate per week. |
| Remote off-site video | No daily limit stated | $6 for 20 minutes | Run through Securus. Monitored for inappropriate actions and body exposure. |
| Professional contact | Monday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Not stated | Email request 24 hours in advance with reason, names and professions, requested date and time, items needed, and inmate name, DOB, and ID. |
| Professional / property during construction | Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Not stated | Weekend initial appearance attorneys and victims are exceptions. Call 520-509-7957. |
All visitors must be 18 or older and bring a valid state photo ID with date of birth. Pending felony charges result in a denial. Minor children may visit when a parent or legal guardian comes with them; legal guardians must bring court documents. On-site visitors may carry only keys and ID into the lobby. No food, drink, gum, tobacco, sunglasses, hats, purses, cell phones, or other electronics are allowed. All visitors, items, and vehicles are subject to search by detector, narcotics canine, or staff.
For the current visitation page and construction notice, see the Pinal Adult Detention visitation page.

The visitation page lists the on-site schedule, the remote video cost, the construction notice, and the visitor dress code in one place.
Mail, Money, and Phone Calls
The inmate mail address changed on January 11, 2026. Personal mail no longer goes to the Florence jail. It goes to a Tampa scanning vendor that scans each piece into the kiosk and tablet system so inmates read mail on a screen. Legal mail, money orders, and approved publications still go to the Florence address because legal mail is not screened the same way as personal mail.
| Service | Instructions |
|---|---|
| Personal mail (effective Jan 11, 2026) | Address to: Incarcerated Name & ID #, Pinal County Adult Detention Center, P.O. Box 20366, Tampa, FL 33622. Mail is scanned for viewing on kiosks and tablets. A return name and address is required. |
| Legal mail, money orders, publications | Address to: Inmate Full Name - Inmate ID, C/O Pinal County Sheriff's Office, P.O. Box 2610, Florence, AZ 85132. Legal mail is not screened the same as regular mail. |
| Photos | Up to ten 4x6 or smaller photos. No pornographic, sexually explicit, or gang material. |
| Books and publications | Must come direct from the publisher, distributor, or authorized retailer. Inmates may keep three books and a bible in the cell at one time. |
| Money deposits | TouchPay by phone at 866-232-1899, online through TouchPay, or by kiosk in the jail lobby. Inmate ID is required. Facility locator number is 285132. |
| Commissary, phone, self-bail funds | Funds are available within 24 hours after the TouchPay deposit clears. |
| Phone calls | Inmates use housing phones from 7 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. unless restricted. Calls run through Securus. |
Money orders and checks sent direct to inmate accounts must be cashier, professional, state, or government checks. Personal checks are not allowed. Stamps and adhesive items on incoming mail are removed before delivery.
For more detail on jail FAQs covering mail, money, medical, and visiting, see the Pinal Adult Detention FAQ.

The FAQ confirms the four-hour release window, the TouchPay process, the medical contract, and the rule against personal checks.
Bond, Release, and Property Pickup
Bond can be paid through the TouchPay kiosk in the jail lobby, at the court that set the bond, through a bail bond service, or by TouchPay phone or website. After paying the deposit, the payer goes to the admission window to confirm bail was posted. Immigration bonds are not accepted at the jail and must be paid at the immigration facility.
Release timing is up to four hours from when the jail gets the release paperwork from the court or the bond is posted. Release paperwork is not controlled by the jail alone, so a bond payer may still wait while the order moves from the court to the jail. The four-hour window is set out in the Adult Detention FAQ and is one of the most useful local facts to know in advance.
Property is released once and only once. A family member may submit a form releasing property to a named person. All items except clothing and shoes must be released at that one pickup. Pickup is seven days a week except holidays, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A valid state photo ID is required. Call the day before pickup.
The Sheriff's Office directory lists the lines and offices that handle these tasks. See the PCSO directory page.

The directory pulls the main jail number, the Sheriff's Office line, and the address for both buildings into one view.
If the Person Is Not on the Pinal Roster
The Pinal jail roster is current custody only. If a search returns nothing, the person may have been released, transferred to ADCRR after sentencing, sent to federal custody, held in another county or city jail, booked under a different spelling, not yet entered before the next 60-minute refresh, or held under a juvenile or restricted record. The next step depends on which path fits.
For people sentenced to state prison, the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry runs the public inmate data search. ADCRR warns that release dates and types have not been verified or audited and can change. For federal inmates, the Bureau of Prisons runs an inmate locator. For victim alerts, VINELink sends updates about custody changes.
The Arizona Department of Corrections public search is at corrections.az.gov.

The ADCRR page hosts the state inmate search frame and the offense and release disclaimers that apply to state custody data.
People recently let out of the Pinal jail may not show in any state or federal database, since most jail releases do not move into a prison system. For that group, see released inmates for the steps that work after a Pinal jail release.
Inmate Programs, Medical, and Discipline
Medical care is run by the Sheriff's Correctional Health Service. The FAQ says no inmate is denied care because of an inability to pay. Outside medical appointments are canceled for security reasons, and the jail medical provider reviews medical issues. Records from a private doctor can be obtained under HIPAA rules for continuity of care.
Religious services run under a contract with Good News Jail and Ministries. Food service and commissary are contract-provided. Daily meals contain about 2,800 calories. Inmates may keep three books and a bible in the cell at one time.
Discipline does not add jail time unless a separate criminal charge is filed. Rule violations may lead to lost privileges or segregation. Complaints go first to the assigned officer, then to a supervisor, then through the grievance procedure, with instructions posted on housing-unit bulletin boards. Frivolous complaints are not accepted.
Work release runs through PCSO-ADC Support Services. Documents must be in at least five business days in advance and include valid ID, driver's license for the transporter, insurance, registration, residential address, commitment order, employer or school documentation, and pay stub or business license if self-employed. The fee is $15 per day. Out-of-jurisdiction participants pay a one-time $193.86 processing and booking fee plus $15 per day.
For more questions about the jail process, see the FAQ.
